Lately, I’ve been watching Gilmore Girls and I’ve noticed just how smart both Lorelai and Rory are. They are always making movie references, book references, and they pretty much have a photographic memory. Once they’ve been exposed to a character in a show/book they remember them for life, and bring them up in relatable conversations all the time.
Now, I know they are fictional characters created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, but I took something from the show based on their on-stage intellect. I want to be smarter than I am. I want to be able to take things from shows and movies and use it in conversation. I want to raid Rory’s book collection. And memorize, Lane’s music treasury! I want to educated myself on movies, music, books, classics, that are before my time. I want to be able to quote Shakespeare, and actually get through Proust. I want to read Tolstoy and fully understand and grasp it.
I don’t want to be average.
Of course there is nothing wrong with average. But I have desires to go above and beyond what I think I am capable of. I want to see what exactly I can do. I want to be an educated and intelligent person. So, I am going to strive for that. And I will continue to, until I’ve reached my goal. And I intend to. I never took honors courses, or more than one AP class (it was always history), but I plan on using my brain for something more.
I have dreams, and visions of the life I want. And being ignorant isn’t an option.

As you pointed out, do remember they are fictional characters on television where everything is fabricated. Good for you on wanting to make “you” a better “you.”
I’ve found that reading just about every and anything helps one to become more worldly.

But there’s no telling where inspiration can come from. Even fictional characters, if you connect to them, can inspire you to be a better you. And thanks. I’m a constant work in progress.

You are right on the inspiration. I just don’t want you to dwell on fictional characters having achieved more than you have.
You seem to be on a good journey to look for positive changes in life. People rarely venture into that territory. It is far easier to blame others in life than be introspective. Your attitude is going to help you to continue be successful in life. Life is all about being dynamic and changing as you gain new experiences.
